Pianezza Hub
Una trasparenza di valori

Via Maiolo, Pianezza, TO, Italy
[2024 – ongoing]
In February 2022, the municipalities of the Western Area of Turin approved a development Masterplan called “Cooperare per Competere” (Cooperate to Compete). The Urban Area Strategy (SUA) extends to all 14 municipalities belonging to the Western Metropolitan Area (AMT Ovest) of Turin, which includes Pianezza.
At the heart of the strategy are hybrid spaces, capable of hosting a wide range of functions and of being connected to their territories, also through improved accessibility via the enhancement of sustainable mobility. These spaces offer, integrate, and bring together services, uses, and experiences.
Within this strategy, regenerated spaces take on the role of territorial hubs, conceived as common goods — accessible and inclusive —
enabling and fostering the coexistence of diverse uses: from study to social interaction, from care and assistance to cultural, performative, and sports activities, as well as recreational and co-management dimensions, with particular attention to green and open spaces.
The design intervention involves the repurposing of an existing service building in support of the local community.
The goal of the project is to provide the citizens of Pianezza with a welcoming place for sharing, listening, and learning, offering spaces dedicated to the enhancement of the individual, social inclusion, and the protection of the most important social institution — the family.
